About the Author

Cary I. Sneider is Associate Research Professor at Portland State University, where he helps prepare science teachers. He is a writer of the Next Generation Science Standards and a member of the National Assessment Governing Board, which sets policy for the "Nation's Report Card." A nationally recognized museum educator, he was Vice President for Educator Programs at Boston's Museum of Science and Director of Astronomy and Physics Programs at Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science.
