本诗词集采用体裁和内容分类归纳整理的方法，共收录了自认为代表习作水平的诗词共四百余首。取名《海外游子吟》，皆为作者退休以后旅居海外所作。诗集分家庭学校、岁月回眸、人物评点、登临揽胜、酬唱往来、抗疫、咏物、杂感、楹联等九方面内容，展示亲友亲情、人生品味、感怀感悟、所憎所爱，多少留下一点这个时代本人的心迹。

The collection of poems is categorized by genre and content and includes more than 400 poems representing various Chinese metrical styles. It was named Overseas Wanderer's Poetry since they were written while the author lived abroad after retirement. The poems are categorized into nine topics, including family and school life, looking back over the years, history and characters, travel and tour, chanting friendship, the COVID-19 pandemic, chanting objects, miscellaneous feelings, and couplets.
