Description

Blake's a tech whiz who likes nothing more than playing games on his computer, so it takes him a little while to realize something very strange is going on. It's almost Christmas, all the toy stores are closed, and letters to Santa are being returned unopened.

If Santa isn't making toys, Blake's little sister, Sally, won't get the doll she wants more than anything, so Blake tries sending an e-mail to Santa's website. When that goes awry, Blake realizes the unthinkable has happened-Christmas has been hacked by someone who wants to take the toys out of the holiday.

It's up to Blake and his best friend, Heather, to save Christmas First, they have to find out who's behind this dastardly plot. To do so, they're going to have to push their technological skills to the limit, visit the brilliant minds who live at Geek World, and uncover the traitor who wants to replace Santa Claus. Along the way, they might just discover that while technology's fun, so are traditional toys.

A gentle Christmas adventure, OMG Christmas Was Hacked reminds readers they don't have to choose between technology and imaginative play.

About the Author

Pamela M. Hately is a student of the visual arts and architecture who also trained in basic computer application software, with knowledge in the PC environment. Her academic background and time spent studying with renowned painters gave her the skills she needed to write and illustrate her latest book. In 1982, Hately and a group of dedicated parents cofounded the K-12 academic institution Colegio Véritas in the Dominican Republic. Her children's play Navidades Mágicas was performed by students of the institution. Like OMG! Christmas Was Hacked!, the play focused on finding a balance between traditional toys and technology. This is her fourth book.
